We are a very blessed people. We are also a forgetful people. Or let me own that more personally, I<\/strong> am a forgetful person. Today I read Psalm 103 and it reminded. \u00a0I have a God who blesses me even though I deserve none of it. I have a God who forgives ALL my sins, who heals ALL my diseases, and who CARES for me.<\/p>\n How often do I forget all this? How often do I live as a functional atheist? How rarely do I really stop and say THANK YOU, humbly acknowledging that the very air I breath was given to my by Him, that my abilities are not down to my hard work but His grace?<\/p>\n Today will you join me in this anthem of remembrance?<\/p>\n Bless the\u00a0Lord<\/span>, O my soul,<\/p>\n and all that is within me,<\/p>\n bless his holy name!<\/p>\n Bless the\u00a0Lord<\/span>, O my soul,<\/p>\n and\u00a0forget not all his benefits,<\/p>\n who\u00a0forgives all your iniquity,<\/p>\n who\u00a0heals all your diseases,<\/p>\n who\u00a0redeems your life from the pit,<\/p>\n who\u00a0crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,<\/p>\n who\u00a0satisfies you with good<\/p>\n so that your youth is renewed like\u00a0the eagle\u2019s.<\/p>\n The\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u00a0works\u00a0righteousness<\/p>\n and justice for all who are oppressed.<\/p>\n He made known his\u00a0ways to Moses,<\/p>\n his\u00a0acts to the people of Israel.<\/p>\n The\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u00a0is\u00a0merciful and gracious,<\/p>\n slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.<\/p>\n He will not always chide,<\/p>\n nor will he\u00a0keep his anger forever.<\/p>\n He does not deal with us\u00a0according to our sins,<\/p>\n nor repay us according to our iniquities.<\/p>\n For\u00a0as high as the heavens are above the earth,<\/p>\n so great is his\u00a0steadfast love toward\u00a0those who fear him;<\/p>\n as far as the east is from the west,<\/p>\n so far does he\u00a0remove our transgressions from us.<\/p>\n As\u00a0a father shows compassion to his children,<\/p>\n so the\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u00a0shows compassion\u00a0to those who fear him.<\/p>\n For he knows our frame;<\/p>\n he\u00a0remembers that we are dust.<\/p>\n As for man, his days are like\u00a0grass;<\/p>\n he flourishes like\u00a0a flower of the field;<\/p>\n for\u00a0the wind passes over it, and\u00a0it is gone,<\/p>\n and its place knows it no more.<\/p>\n But\u00a0the steadfast love of the\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u00a0is from everlasting to everlasting on\u00a0those who fear him,<\/p>\n and his righteousness to\u00a0children\u2019s children,<\/p>\n to those who\u00a0keep his covenant<\/p>\n and\u00a0remember to do his commandments.<\/p>\n \n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n We are a very blessed people.
