A number of years ago I remember watching an evangelism training video. It had a laughable sketch where someone went up to a total stranger and asked, \u201cHave you been washed in the blood of the lamb?\u201d In our squeamish culture, it probably isn\u2019t the best question to ask someone at the very beginning of a conversation about Christ. I fear for us, Howe ever, that we are in danger of loosing the appreciation that the old saints had for the \u201cprecious blood of Jesus.\u201d So I thought in this post we would remind ourselves of what the Bible has to say about blood. <\/p>\n

\u201cIndeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.\u201d (Hebrews 9:22)\n<\/li>
\u201c . . . how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.\u201d (Hebrews 9:14)\n<\/li>
\u201c . . . we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus.\u201d (Hebrews 10:19)\n<\/li>
\u201c . . . the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.\u201d (1 John 1:7)\n<\/li>
\u201cTo him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood.\u201d (Revelation 1:5)\n<\/li>
