<\/a>Perhaps one of the most stimulating and deep thinkers in the world<\/strong> today is Jordan Peterson.\u00a0These two video clips come from one of his most\u00a0challenging full length videos ever<\/a>. It is part of a playlist with two other videos on his belief in God. I embed the playlist at the end of this post.<\/p>\n When asked a question Peterson will often answer \u201cI have spent years thinking about that\u201d<\/strong><\/em>. Not for him a trite careless answer.<\/p>\n He is at the forefront of nothing less than a revolution of thinking which is appealing to many believers and non believers alike.<\/p>\n He has digested ancient philosophical and theological writings, as well as 20th century psycho-analytic thinkers, psychological research, and is a fierce critic of our inspid modern culture<\/a> which seems intent on destroying itself.<\/p>\n It is no accident that after Neitche declared \u201cGod is dead\u201d we had the most deadly century ever when man killed more other men than had ever been done before. The 20th century stands as a testimony of what man is capable of when he no longer believes in God.<\/strong><\/p>\n Peterson says we should act as if we believe in God<\/strong>. \u00a0He argues that to believe in God should totally transform your behaviour, because it is such a crucial belief. And if we do not believe in God we lose a lot of the basis for our moral behaviour. \u00a0Here are some quotes from Peterson, the short videos are well worth watching, as well as the longer ones.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. I have been asked many times by many people if I believe in God. I don\u2019t like this question. I generally respond by stating that I act as if God exists<\/strong>, but that\u2019s not sufficiently true. Who could do that? Who could conduct themselves with the moral exactitude and care necessary of someone who would dare to make that claim? Either claim?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI act as if I believe in God to the best of my ability.\u00a0I am afraid that he might exist!\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
