I thought I would blog through my own journey reading her book \u201cstatecraft\u201d. This book is likely to be her last word to the world which to various degrees embraced \u201cwhat some call Thatcherism but what I had always regarded as common sense\u201d<\/em> (p 65)<\/p>\n

So what does Thatcher think today?<\/p>\n

About foreign pollicy : \u201cAbove all, foreign and security pollicy is about the use of power to acheive a states goals in its relations with other states. As a conservative I have no squeamishness about stating this. I leave it to others to try to achieve the results they seek in international affairs without reference to power. They always fail. And their failures often lead to outcomes more damaging than the pursuit of national interest through the normal means of the balance of power.\u201d<\/em> (intro)<\/p>\n

On freedom \u201cthe price of freedom can be high..it may indeed require the sacrifice of \u2018blood, toil, tears and sweat\u2019\u2026.liberty must never be allowed to perish from the earth, it must endure for ever\u201d<\/em> p5 and
