Are you ready to ride with Hekate? I am. About 6 months ago I was getting a lot of feelings that either late 2019 or 2020 were going to be watershed years for me. Was my intuition kicking into overdrive? Was it a psychic happening? All I know was that I kept getting unseen clues making me feel uneasy. As 2019 ended, the feelings escalated.<\/p>\n

There were some major transphobic comments coming from very public figures recently. Was that it? That was part of it, but it went much deeper than anything to do with my trans world. I pondered, should I write about it? Then I had a long talk with Selena Fox, my mentor, teacher, \u00a0pagan minister, and friend about it.<\/p>\n

She reminded me right after Circle Sanctuary\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> Longest Night Event that I helped staff, that it was not a good time for any article like that. Yule is for peace, love and community. I agreed not to fan any more flames about those public remarks during Yule. \u00a0But Yule is over, and I must write what I feel. But I do agree, we absolutely need more peace, love, community, and justice in the world.<\/p>\n

I kept getting more uneasy every day and night leading into New Year\u2019s Eve and Day. What\u2019s going on? What was going on was an accumulation of almost everything that was happening not only in the United States, but around the world. For many years. More and more hatred against marginalized people. Major climate change. More wildfires out of control in many parts of the world. Political strife. It seemed to me that greed had overcome so many of our world leaders.<\/p>\n

As a U.S. Air Force veteran in most all of the 1960\u2019s, it\u2019s been reminding me of when I was stationed overseas during Vietnam. A very stressful time in my life, and for all of us, no matter if we served or were anti-war demonstrators. Are we as a civilization totally out of control? I believe we are.<\/p>\n

When world leaders choose greed over people\u2019s lives, it matters to me. I couldn\u2019t protest the Vietnam War, being in the military. After I left the military, and started my business with a lot of very conservative clients, I had to stay silent to maintain that business. Do I regret it now? Yes I do. But what was in the past lives there, not here today.<\/p>\n

Lately there has been so much dissension, racism, misogyny, and outright hatred in the news and on social media, including Twitter and Facebook. When will it end? When is enough, enough? I had a great chat with my fellow blogger, mentor, teacher and friend, Cyndi Brannen<\/strong><\/a>, about a lot of that the last Sunday night of 2019.<\/p>\n

It was after that conversation that Hekate gave me a lot of inspiration. The feeling I received was simple. Get ready to ride. A couple of \u00a0days after that feeling I had, Cyndi wrote a wonderful blog article, 2020 is the Year of the Witch<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Yesterday afternoon I drew a card from The Wild Unknown Archetypes deck<\/strong><\/a>, that I had received from a good friend. I had already been thinking about writing a poem for this article. The card I drew was Poet. Today I received a text from my good friend letting me know she drew the same card in her The Wild Unknown Tarot deck. Coincidence? I don\u2019t think so as we are both Hekatean witches.<\/p>\n

Last summer I wrote an article<\/strong><\/a> that was an indication of what might come to pass. It was about adapting symbols and words to 21st century witchcraft from some of the ancient PGM<\/strong><\/a> Prayers. \u00a0I like reading what a lot of authors wrote about way back then of events that were to come in the future. I think that time has come to pass again.<\/p>\n

Welcome to 2020 witches, we\u2019re in for a fight<\/em>
\nAnd following Hekate we\u2019ll do it right<\/em>
\nWe\u2019ll have no more limitations<\/em>
\nAnd proceed with sincere incantations<\/em>
\nSo away through the night<\/em>
\nUp with all of our might<\/em>
\nUp in the sky riding our brooms<\/em>
\nFighting against impending dooms<\/em>
\nWe are the rebels, the outlaws, the witches<\/em>
\nFighting injustice right in the ditches<\/em>
\nWe are Hekate\u2019s chosen, who will win in the end<\/em>
\nRising up against tyranny, we will transcend<\/em>
\nBreaking the chains that others try to enforce<\/em>
\nSo in the end there will be no remorse<\/em>
\nOnly peace to all who worship our Great Mother,<\/em>
\nHekate for me, no other.<\/em><\/p>\n

I\u2019m ready to ride. \u00a0Are you? \u00a0Will you ride with our Queen, Hekate?<\/p>\n
