We begin this week with Mercury in Retrograde, a chaos filled world, meteor showers, and an upcoming full eclipse.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

\"-Between<\/a>I awoke to the sunshine through the glass pane echoing the songbird\u2019s joy. As I lay in bed listening, the pangs of energy circled around as if a chain smoker was puffing one after another. The pain in the world is being stirred by fear, hate, and hurt and even those not privy to the typical empathic vibrations seem to be picking up on the mood.\n

I once accidentally added too much salt to a recipe. I was just learning to cook, my mom\u2019s eyes faltering into her own world of darkness, and I was worried she\u2019d be mad. We didn\u2019t have much and to throw away a portion of my dad\u2019s Friday paycheck to my mistake was unacceptable.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sorry, mom,\u201d I apologized, tears running down my face.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s okay, Kristy, you simply add a dash of sugar to counter the saltiness,\u201d she calmly explained.<\/p>\n

I did what she instructed and it miraculously worked (I later learned that everything from sugar to vinegar to lemon juice, depending on the dish, can also offset too much salt). I reacted instead of looked for a solution. I assumed rather than asked for help.<\/p>\n

We are now in Mercury Retrograde {more on that here<\/a>} and for the next couple weeks it\u2019s going to be easy to throw the dish away and cry over spilled salt. It\u2019s easy to get caught up in the hate of the world, the anger of your life, the sadness of the past, but is it worth it? Sometimes adding a bit of sugar to your life, not in the candy bar or wine kind, but the love kind, can help make the dish tastier. Is it easy? Nope. Is it easier to be caught up in the tsunami of fear and hate? Absolutely. But go your way, not the way everyone else wants to push you or distract you to go. It\u2019s up to you to find the beauty in your days; otherwise if you rely on others you will be continually disappointed.<\/p>\n
