Thank you for your patience as I took off some time to complete some very difficult coursework through the University of North Texas in Vocational Rehabilitation.\u00a0 After three months, I completed the last of my coursework and licensing exams last night, so I will be officially licensed soon in this field.\u00a0 This academic and licensing training was some the most difficult and rigerours coursework I have ever attempted. I\u2019m an Educational Therapist who expanded my practice to also include Vocational Rehabilitation services.\u00a0 \u00a0My past experience has mostly been providing specialized intervention plans for children with learning, developmental, and cognitive neurodivergences\/disabilities to help them perform better in school and in the home. Over the last three months, I have expanded my practice to also include adults with disabilities\/ neurodivergences who need job and life skills training, job placement, and job retention skills.<\/p>\n

Since my work and home life consumed nearly all of my time over the last three months, I had to take time off from Patheos writing and watching the news, so I appreciate your patience.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t have time to watch the news much, but I did notice a group of World War II Veterans that I would like to honor.\u00a0 \u00a0 They were interviewed by Westchester Journal News and other smaller news sources.\u00a0 These brave WWII vets rebuked and condemned the actions of January 6th and President Trump.\u00a0 I undoubtedly know that my grandparents, who all voted for President Obama would have done the same, because they believed in democracy and truly understood what it was where I did not during that time.\u00a0 \u00a0I realize that the military has been split over its allegiance to Trump, but this group of WWII vets, who truly oppose Neo-Nazism and right-winged ideology, bc all know that history is now repeating itself.<\/p>\n

We need to ask ourselves what the truth is, especially those who claim that they support \u201claw and order.\u201d How can we support American democracy and \u201cLiberty and Justice for All\u201d while also supporting Trump and right-winged ideology?\u00a0 We cannot.\u00a0 Just as right-winged ideology and Trumpism are diametrically opposed to American freedom and democracy, Jesus and the Gospels are also in direct opposition to right-winged ideology and Trumpism.\u00a0 Therefore, the Church should be as well. Abortion is not the only life issue; there are 46 others stated by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops.<\/p>\n

We must face reality. Right-winged ideology has now indeed infiltrated many of our churches, different parts (mainly red) areas of the country, schools, and institutions.\u00a0 \u00a0If we truly want what our constitution says, that all men are created equal and have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, we must oppose Trumpism and right-winged ideology.\u00a0 If we don\u2019t want a variation of the Holocaust, we must protect democracy with everything that we have.\u00a0 Representative Jamie Raskin\u2019s speech says it all.\u00a0 Again, I have listed the traits of fascism just so we, including myself, will not forget what they are<\/p>\n

Once a political power turns to genocide, which is exactly what they are doing right now to trans children and with gun violence in certain states, we have stepped into the early stages of fascism.\u00a0 I believe that the current legislative actions of some far-right Republican politicians (not all) are now falling in fuller alignment with fascism, especially in Texas, Ohio, and Florida. According to Encyclopedia Britannica and The Washington Monthly, I close with these primary traits of fascism once again.\u00a0 I believe we are now inside the outskirts of a fascist state and moving closer to a variation of the Holocaust, at least in Texas.<\/p>\n

1. sources and capitalizes on economic woes and anxieties
\n2. shifts political blame on to scapegoat groups like minority groups, the Democrats,
\nimmigrants, and other groups while taking away blame from where it belongs, on the leadership
\n3. propagates extreme nationalism going hand-in-hand with racism and militarism
\n4. a melding of church and state when there should be a separation
\n5. subjugation of women and sexism
\n6. a disdain for human rights except those of the elite, especially a disdain for those who identify as LGBTQIA+
\n7. obsession with crime and punishment
\n8. identification of enemies as a unifying cause for political action
\n9. disdain for intellectualism, science, history, and the arts
\n10. control of different types of media, including books
\n11. rampant cronyism and government corruption
\n12. attempt to control elections, like through voter suppression<\/p>\n
