What are Coke-loving Muslims to do when a growing boycott<\/a> in protest of US support of Israeli military action starts to take hold? Enter ZamZam Cola, an Iranian beverage that came about after American companies such as Coca-Cola were kicked out after the Iranian revolution. Just in time for summer, the drink<\/a> is starting to appear in stores throughout the Arab world as an indiginous replacement for Coke. Similar actions are taking place with respect for American fast food franchises (patrons are trying \u201cSaudi Burger\u201d and \u201cPizza Sheikh\u201d instead), even though local Burger Kings and McDonald\u2019s are stressing their financial independence<\/a> and support for Palestinians by collecting donations for relief. In the end, American businesses may be boycotted, but American-style food and drink seems to be here to stay.<\/p>\n
