Hollywood couldn\u2019t come up with a more caricatured Muslim if an Oscar<\/a> depended on it. Abu Hamza al-Masri, the radical cleric and bin Laden supporter<\/a> ousted from the mosque he called home for years, turned up<\/a> his rhetoric a notch by gloating over the Columbia disaster as he took his flock to the sidewalk. icin being found among Algerian immigrants, and the stabbing death<\/a> of a Manchester detective who had been doing an anti-terror investigation. (\u201cEverybody in this f**king country,\u201d seethes a mosque member, \u201cis a racist and hates Islam.\u201d) Many Muslims complained<\/a> that the harsh action against the mosque would only help extremists<\/a> like Al-Masri (who was not arrested<\/a> in the raid) recruit. \u201cIt isn\u2019t the bigmouths who are the most dangerous,\u201d said Home Secretary David Blunkett as he dismissed criticism<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s the ones you cannot see and you do not hear.\u201d Al-Masri remains defiant<\/a> about his repellent politics even as trustees of the Finsbury Park mosque complained that police<\/a> have ignored their warnings about the outspoken cleric for some time now. But the authorities aren\u2019t leaving Al-Masri and his \u201c Supporters of Sharia<\/a>\u201d group alone anymore. The government has ordered him to give up his pulpit<\/a>, which may mean we\u2019ll see less of that claw-hand<\/a> that freaks so many people out.<\/p>\n
