The Saudi morals police formally known as \u201cThe Committee for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice,\u201d which brought you such hits as keeping Saudi schoolgirls<\/a> from escaping a burning building because they weren\u2019t properly covered, have made the news again after declaring Barbie dolls<\/a> to be a \u201csymbol of decadence to the perverted West\u201d (and \u201cJewish\u201d as well \u2013 who knew?) and renewed a 10-year old ban on possessing the popular doll. The committee is empowered to seek out the doll in stores, confiscate them, and levy fines. Perhaps Saudi girls should look to America, where the new Razanne<\/a> doll has come out \u2013 stylish hijab<\/a> and all. The new doll is supposed to present a positive image of a Muslim woman, and may soon be accompanied by a \u201cGI Joe\u201d-style Muslim male doll. Sound threatening? Don\u2019t worry. \u201cIt\u2019s not going to be<\/a> an Osama bin Laden action figure,\u201d insists Razanne\u2019s creator.<\/p>\n
