<\/iframe>\n<\/p>His Holiness the Dalai Lama is participating in a symposium with scientists and scholars entitled \u201cLife and After Life\u201d Maitripa College in Portland, Oregon, USA on May 10, 2013.<\/p>\nClick play to watch (and discuss below -or above- in the comments).<\/p>\nIn a recent press release, Maitripa College confirmed that the Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform to close out the symposium:<\/p>\nMaitripa\u00a0College and Red Hot Chili Peppers JOINT PRESS RELEASE<\/strong><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\nMAITRIPA\u00a0COLLEGE TO HOST RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS<\/strong><\/p>\nAS PART OF DALAI LAMA\u2019S VISIT TO PORTLAND, MAY 2013<\/strong><\/p>\nRed Hot Chili Peppers Performance to Conclude\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dalailamaportland2013.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Dalai Lama Environmental Summit<\/a>, May 9-11, 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\nPortland, Ore.<\/em>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Maitripa\u00a0College and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are honored to announce that\u00a0as part of the visit of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dalailama.com\/biography\/a-brief-biography\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso<\/span><\/a>, to Portland, Oregon.,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.maitripa.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Maitripa Colleg<\/span><\/a>e, the first and only Tibetan <a href='https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/library\/buddhism' target='_blank'>Buddhist<\/a> college in the Pacific Northwest, will also host the Red Hot Chili Peppers for a special musical performance on May 11th<\/sup>. The musical element of this event is intended to be a display of joyful celebration and an inspiration to future generations to care for our planet. The Red Hot Chili Peppers have been great supporters of the Tibetan cause, of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and of the need to work to protect and preserve our environment.<\/p>\nTheir special benefit performance is scheduled for 3:30-4:40 pm on May 11th<\/sup>\u00a0at Veteran\u2019s Memorial Coliseum, at the end of the third day of events in Portland with the Dalai Lama.
