I don\u2019t have any particular expectations or rules: just trying to take note of where the stuff comes from <span style=\"font-style: italic\">that goes into me<\/span> (and around me).<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m focusing on food because it\u2019s my #1 expenditure. But I\u2019ll note other things as they come into my world.<\/p>\n<p>Today was my first grocery trip of the year and it was a small one; just some basics and sale items (I\u2019m a sucker for markdowns).  <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Here\u2019s what I got, the cost -M indicates a markdown, and where it\u2019s from<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>RH Phillips Night Harvest Merlot -750ml x2, $3.99M each, CA<\/li>\n<li>Naturally Nested cage free eggs -dozen, $2.49, Unknown source, distributed in Billings, MT<\/li>\n<li>Treasure Cove Feta Cheese, $1.99M, IL<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/naturaldirections.com\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">NaturalDirections<\/a> Coffee -12oz, $5.89M, Unknown source but USDA Organic and fair trade certified and distributed from OR.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/naturaldirections.com\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">NaturalDirections<\/a> soy milk -half gal, $2.09M, as above.<\/li>\n<li>WesternFamily skim milk -half gal, $1.79, Unknown source, distributed from OR.<\/li>\n<li>WesternFamily saltines, $.99M, \u201cproduct of USA\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">I won\u2019t be winning any awards from the Vegans out there<\/span> (mine is the soy milk though, the skim is for Julie, I swear!), nor from those <a href=\"http:\/\/marcusjournal.blogspot.com\/2009\/09\/suramerayamajja-pamadatthana-veramani.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">5th precept stallwarts<\/a>.
