{"id":347,"date":"2009-04-30T20:01:00","date_gmt":"2009-04-30T20:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/americanbuddhist\/2009\/04\/unphotographable\/"},"modified":"2009-04-30T20:01:00","modified_gmt":"2009-04-30T20:01:00","slug":"unphotographable","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/americanbuddhist\/2009\/04\/unphotographable.html","title":{"rendered":"Unphotographable"},"content":{"rendered":"<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><head><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><\/head><body><p>A lover of nature\u2019s great vistas and the quest to capture them in full color, contrast, and glory, I was intrigued by the name of this blog: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unphotographable.com\/index.shtml\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Unphotographable<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>This is what I found there, posted 4-15-09:<br><b><\/b><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b>This is a picture I did not take<\/b> of the most optimistic homeless man in America, spare changing at the Fox News-sponsored \u201cTea Party\u201d in Atlanta on April 15th, rattling his empty cup as hundreds passed-by and grimaced at the sight of him approaching, trying to avoid meeting his smiling face, clenching their car keys and homemade signs about Taxes, about how the government is taking too much of their money, while a man stands in front of them with an empty cup and full smile, saying \u201cthere\u2019s no good crowd or bad crowd \u2014 we\u2019re all one, baby\u201d while they hustle past as fast as they can, to catch a glimpse of their hero Sean Hannity, to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with hands over their hearts while singing <i>God Bless America<\/i>. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In the face of cable-news\u2019 constant barrage of images and the otherwise over-stimulating world of artifacts we live in, it is amazingly refreshing to find a few words <span style=\"font-style: italic\">worth a thousand pictures<\/span>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/tracker\/7907151-7948774132001127490?l=americanbuddhist.blogspot.com\" alt=\"\"><\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A lover of nature\u2019s great vistas and the quest to capture them in full color, contrast, and glory, I was intrigued by the name of this blog: Unphotographable.
