No philosophical fu–fuing.

I did buy myself a fancy new computer though (pictures to follow no doubt). A fancy (I’ll use that word a lot when describing it) HP Tablet PC. It has a fancy pen that you can use to write directly on the screen, the fancy screen. Oh, and you can just use your fingers too. It does other fancy things too, but that’s the big one. I can turn the screen 180 degrees and hold it like a notebook so as to read those hundreds of articles I downloaded in London’s fancy Senate House library. (So happy)

Speaking of computers. Much to my delight, Julie spilled coffee all over her computer yesterday morning. The computer, having learned from its experience with me, jumped a bit and all was ok. And Oliver – the cat – was snoozing in the bedroom the whole time. 🙂 I think her Dell is definitely combat ready now.

My job has me buried in budgeting and planning. Not my forte, but I do get to be creative with such things as my salary… hmmm… how much should I make next year? I’m thinking I’m in for a 20% raise, maybe 40%. We’ll see. Apparently such things have to be “justified” and “reviewed” so I may just get a $450 check from our governor and a pat on the head.

Speaking of jobs, I caught wind of a potential position for me in Bristol while I was there. It immediately sent my mind swirling back to the great times I had then. But after some thought I probably won’t pursue it (or maybe just a little)… It would be more admin work, and only 6 months worth, so it would leave a lot to chance as to ‘what next’ in the end. Plus I’m happy here in Montana. We’ll see.

I’ve recently read excerpts from the book “Bobos in Paradise,” (guardian article) featured on D’s blog (see right). A friend and former student of mine who had been gallivanting in Morocco, Portugal, and Spain for much of the winter brought it up at meditation last week. I rarely if ever read anything for pleasure, so I’m holding back on giving it a full go, but what I’ve seen was fun and clever.

Apparently I most definitely AM a BoBo (Bohemian Bourgeois). More on that to come too (no doubt thanks to my new computer, which is energy-star approved, thus good for the environment…?)

OK – enough randomness.

I have little of any significance to say.
