And I\u2019m happy to say it hasn\u2019t been downhill at all from there.  After a wonderful brunch of homemade soup and bread I was off to my place to <span style=\"font-style: italic\">work<\/span>.  <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">And work I have, for about 10 straight hours, on my thesis<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">One can almost <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic;font-weight: bold\">taste<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> <a href='https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/library\/buddhism' target='_blank'>Buddhist<\/a> Ethics after 10 hours of reading, writing, searching, and analyzing it<\/span>.  It tastes a bit like triscuits, coffee, and sigg water (at least here it does).<\/p>\n<p>I have a stack of huge, imposing, very-smart-guy looking books on one side of me and a messy pile of printed articles and notes on the other: ahh, <span style=\"font-style: italic\">heaven<\/span>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\">~\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">If I could just have 364 more days <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic;font-weight: bold\">just like this<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> <\/span>(well, close \u2013 some days I <span style=\"font-style: italic\">will<\/span> have to go buy more triscuits and coffee, and then there\u2019s photography, hiking\u2026 oh, and my job\u2026.).  Well, ok, how about 100 days just like this?  <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">I\u2019ll take 80.  No less<\/span>.\n<p>Resolutions?  Well, besides <span style=\"font-style: italic\">resolving to accept myself just the way I am<\/span> \ud83d\ude42  I guess I\u2019ll resolve to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Get back into shape: a December filled with travels, bad weather and great food gives me a little work to do.<\/li>\n<li>Get 200 pages of my thesis written.<\/li>\n<li>Keep working on book side-projects if and when time allows.<\/li>\n<li>Spend plenty of time in <span style=\"font-style: italic\">nature<\/span> \u2013 preferably with friends and family (&amp; camera!).<\/li>\n<li>Give 3-4 presentations on Buddhist Ethics (2 already scheduled, this month and April).<\/li>\n<li>Get an article published.<\/li>\n<li>Meditate a lot, with 14 days (minimum) in retreat.<\/li>\n<li>Continue to build and strengthen the campus and other Buddhist communities in and around Missoula.<\/li>\n<li>Find more creative and inspiring ways for us (as Sanghas) all to <span style=\"font-style: italic\">give back<\/span> to our community.<\/li>\n<li>Rebuild my <a href=\"http:\/\/americanbuddhist.blogspot.com\/2008\/09\/visioning-gratitude.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">vision board<\/a> with these and other visions I plan to bring about in the next 12 months (I already see the perfect spot).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>That should be plenty to keep me busy.  Maybe too much.  Probably.  \ud83d\ude42  Anyhow.  <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">May peace and joy fill your lives this year and all to come.
