I\u2019m very thrilled and honored to have studied with these wonderful women, and thought I\u2019d devote a quick post to where they are now.<\/p>\n<p>Allison <a href=\"http:\/\/americanbuddhist.blogspot.com\/2006\/03\/life-friends-in-low-places.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">you heard a bit about<\/a> in March (she\u2019s the one with the BA from Oxford). Then she and her boyfriend were volunteering in education services in India. Today she\u2019s back in England, Birmingham to be precise, looking for work at the moment.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dharmawheelgame.com\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/photos1.blogger.com\/blogger\/4804\/510\/320\/dharmawheelgame.0.jpg\" border=\"0\"><\/a>Heather is an American with a British husband and two wonderful daughters. Today she is back in the U.S., just getting settled after a long moving process, but already moving on to new projects. One of those may be a book, another is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dharmawheelgame.com\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Dharma Wheel Game<\/a>, which she\u2019s been working on for a long time (It\u2019s the perfect gift for that Buddhist who has it all\u2026 hehe\u2026). Actually I think it would be great for anyone looking for a fun way to introduce kids to <a href='https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/library\/buddhism' target='_blank'>Buddhism<\/a> \u2013 it combines the fun atmosphere of a game and actually teaches the basics of Buddhism.<\/p>\n<p>Last but not least is Mary: half Greek, half Hawai\u2019ian, with a British boyfriend. Today she is finishing her own second M.A. (in Creative Writing) and also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theinnerpage.com\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">has a website<\/a> where she offers writing workshops that combine her various interests. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"The Inner Page\" src=\"https:\/\/photos1.blogger.com\/blogger\/4804\/510\/320\/theinnerpage.jpg\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n<p>There were a few part-timers and post-grads: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Helmut from Bavaria (I\u2019m not sure what he\u2019s up to), <\/li>\n<li>Simon from Birmingham (a polymath who seems to know the Vissudhimagga inside and out, did work at Cambridge, spent a month or so in a Japanese Zen monastery\u2026 I\u2019m not sure what he\u2019s up to either), <\/li>\n<li>Asaf from Israel (he studied Pali a bit with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ocbs.org\/intro.php\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Richard Gombrich at Oxford<\/a> and, last I heard, was traveling and\/or studying in Sri Lanka), and<\/li>\n<li>Steve from whoknowswhere (in England)\u2026 (he worked and still works at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sharpham-trust.org\/centre\/index.htm\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Sharpham College for Buddhist Studies and Contemporary Enquiry<\/a> with John Peacock and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stephenbatchelor.org\/stephenbio.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Stephen Batchelor<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Then there\u2019s me, li\u2019l ol\u2019 me.  I <em>have my own blog<\/em>.  All of my whoopetty-do happenings are here somewhere.  One to add is that yesterday I received an email from the head of the department of Religious Studies here saying that they need someone to take over the 150+ student <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.umt.edu\/religious\/Medbud\/HTML_FILES\/232-home.htm\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">Introduction to Buddhism<\/a> course\u2026 So\u2026 if some strings can be pulled and some funding hoops can be jumped threw, I\u2019ll be teaching Religious Studies 211 rather than English Composition 101 in the fall!  And in the Spring I <em>might<\/em> be given an upper division course <em>of my choice<\/em> in the Religious Studies department!
