Why be upset?<\/span>
If you can change the situation,
change it! \u2013 don\u2019t bother being upset with it.<\/p>\nIf you cannot change the situation,
what good will being upset do?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\u2014 3 hours later\u2026 Now I\u2019ve been to work, and cleaned a bit around the house (my new place). Oh! Good news came to me yesterday: two of my paper deadlines have been pushed back: those that were due Monday are now due on the 8th and 12th. So new deadlines are:<\/p>\n

- April 29-30: Moving out of the old house, in to the new (or at least getting a good start)<\/li>\n
- May 3: Sartre Paper (\u201cWho am I?\u201d A Sartrean Analysis)<\/li>\n
- May 4: Ethics and Evolution presentation (on Julian Huxley, Kant, and the Ideology of Progress)<\/li>\n
- May 5: in Spokane at Gonzaga University, I present my paper on \u201cBuddhist Ethics: A Kantian Analysis.\u201d<\/a> <\/li>\n
- May 8: Ethics and Evolution paper due<\/li>\n
- May 10: [5\/1\/06 update] Sartre Test \u2013 Being and Nothingness and Search for a Method\u2026 (I forgot about this until today\u2026 why????)<\/span><\/li>\n
- May 12: Cosmology and Philosophy, paper presentation at 9am, paper due by 5pm (David Bohm and the hope for a Moral Cosmology).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
\u2014 now Saturday\u2026. (1pm) I have my ticket for Spain!!! I arrive August 4<\/span> and stay until the 23rd! So for both Ana and I any lingering worries have melted into giddy anticipation of actually being together again.<\/p>\n
Now I have four hours to actually get some stuff done<\/span> \u2013 and then it\u2019s off to a philosophy department party. sigh. Life is so hard. I say that in jest, but maybe only halfway. Perhaps life is<\/span> hard for so many of my fellow Americans because it is so easy \u2013 and easy isn\u2019t meaningful. It\u2019s the paradox of affluence, of \u2018having it all\u2019 \u2013 you still don\u2019t necessarily have what is most important: meaning. (hmm\u2026 thoughts for a future post\u2026 \u2019till then, I suppose I have stuff <\/span>to do.)<\/p>\n
