It\u2019s really no secret. I am not a morning person.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s weird because I LOVE the mornings! It\u2019s by far my favorite part of the day, but the sad part is, I\u2019m rarely conscious during this part of the day.<\/p>\n

I have no clue what it is about the mornings, maybe it\u2019s how still it is, or maybe its that it represents a fresh start, or that I rarely see it so when I do I\u2019m in awe of it\u2026<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Either way, this year things are going to change.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This year, I\u2019m going to be conscious for the mornings. Now don\u2019t get my wrong I usually wake up at about 8am (so it\u2019s not that I\u2019m sleeping to noon everyday). But with working two jobs, volunteering in a local youth ministry, applying to grad school, and attempting to maintain somewhat of a social life I really don\u2019t have any other time to work towards my dream job.<\/p>\n

I get home at 10:00pm half of the the time and by then I\u2019m done for the day. Spent\u2026 got nothing left.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Which is where 5:30am comes into play.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This is the only real time I have to work towards my dream.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I was reading Jon Acuff\u2019s blog<\/a> and he challenged his readers to get up early to work on their dream\u2026 Take a picture of their clock and finish this sentence, \u201cThe early bird gets ______.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For me, I\u2019m taking this a step further. I\u2019m not going to wake up at 5:30 just today. But I\u2019m going to wake up at 5:30 every weekday to work on my dream. It might sound crazy, but at this point in my life, although this is just a season, this is just what needs to be done.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m not only doing this because this is a dream, passion, or love of mine. I\u2019m doing this because i believe whole heartedly this is a calling.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cPeople say you have to have a lot passion for what you\u2019re doing, and it\u2019s totally true, and the reason is because it\u2019s so hard, that if you don\u2019t\u2026 any rational person would give up\u2026 So, if you don\u2019t love it you\u2019re going to give up. If you look at the ones who ended up being successful, the ones that are successful loved what they did so they could persevere<\/em> when it got tough, the ones that didn\u2019t love it quit, because their sane<\/strong>. if you don\u2019t love it you\u2019re gonna fail. You gotta love it and you gotta have a lot of passion<\/strong>.\u201d \u2013 Steve Jobs\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

So for me, for this season, I\u2019m going to be conscious, awake, and working at 5:30 in the morning, towards not only my dream, but my God given calling\u2026\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And with that\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

The early bird gets to write books<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
