<\/p>\nI\u2019m remember my senior year in high school we were at a pep rally all 3,500 of us piled into our tiny lunch box size of a gym. The captain of whatever team, walked to center court to pump us all up for that nights game against our schools rival, snatched the mic from the principals hand, holding on to the mic with one hand, and holding onto the front side of his pants with the other.\u00a0Turned to all 3,500 of us and said\u2026<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re Focused!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
That was it. That was his speech.\u00a0Dropped the mic and strutted out of the gym with the rest of the team.\u00a0I look back at this and immediately think, But looking past him being a complete stereo type of a New Jersey high school senior\u2026\u00a0If there\u2019s one thing I\u2019ve learned in life, its that: In order to make one\u2019s goals a reality one has to stay focused.\u00a0We\u2019re so easily distracted. How could we not be? When everyone and everything seems to be grabbing at, and fighting for our attention.\u00a0<\/p>\n Friends, family, jobs, salesmen, television, youtube, social media, to even this very blog.\u00a0<\/p>\n We all want your attention, and your time. It\u2019s no wonder that attention deficit disorder is the norm nowadays, its almost as if you\u2019re the odd ball out if you don\u2019t have ADD\u2026\u00a0<\/p>\n The down side is, we don\u2019t have the time to give everyone and everything our attention.\u00a0<\/p>\n The average American is said to spend 35 hours watching television per week!\u00a0<\/p>\n 35 hours! Thats 5 hours away from being a full time TV watcher. And the thing is there are NO BENEFITS that come along with that job title! (See what I did there?)<\/p>\n Even as I write this post, I\u2019m being distracted by television, social media, and texts. (I\u2019m watching House Hunters, texting four others, and downloading apps [Final Cut, woot woot!] while typing this)\u00a0<\/p>\n Instead of suggesting a simple solution. I want you to do two things:<\/p>\n\u201cWhat a douche bag.\u201d<\/del>\u00a0\u201dSuch a unique speech.\u201d<\/p>\n
