This video is of the beautiful song Heal this Land.<\/p>\nIn \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ihd-inspiration.com\/magazine\/bennis-vision.asp\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Leading with Vision and Trust<\/a>\u201d \u00a0Warren Bennis writes:<\/p>\n<blockquote>Why did India\u2019s poor march to the sea with Gandhi against the salt tax? Because they trusted him. Trust is based on predictability: trusted leaders make themselves known and make their positions clear. Four leadership qualities together engender trust:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vision<\/li>\n<li>Empathy<\/li>\n<li>Consistency<\/li>\n<li>Integrity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nCreating a vision<\/span><\/p>\nLeaders manage the dream: they have the capacity to create a compelling, over-arching vision that takes people to a new place.<\/p>\nA vision is a portrait of the future that grabs. Initially it grabs the leader, and then their magnetic intensity and commitment to it draw others in. Leaders love what they do. The passion that comes from knowing what they want, that is demonstrated by their unswerving commitment to a vision, communicates hope and inspiration.<\/p>\nVisions animate, inspire and transform purpose into action. Visions bring about confidence and a belief in others that they are capable of performing to their full potential.<\/p>\nCommunicating the vision<\/span><\/p>\nBelieving in one\u2019s dreams is not enough. Without communication nothing can be realised.<\/p>\nLeadership is a transaction between leaders and followers. Neither could exist without the other. Leaders must understand their followers, and followers must understand those who lead. This interaction creates a unified focus that flows from the communication of a clear, compelling, vivid and exciting image of a desired state of affairs.<\/p>\nCommunication creates meaning. Mismanagement of meaning and lack of clarity only lead to evasion of responsibility and guilt.<\/p>\nLeaders must be able to influence and organise meaning, and to focus more on thinking than \u201cfacts\u201d or \u201cknowing\u201d, on the \u201cknow-why\u201d before \u201cknow-how\u201d. Shared meanings and interpretations of reality facilitate coordinated action. Unequivocal communication of the message is key to aligning any group behind an organisation\u2019s goals.<\/p><\/blockquote>\nWhen I first published this post after the 2008 election I and many others were filled with the hope that a single leader could accomplish all of this and more. \u00a0However, Pluto in Capricorn requires that we face the realities of the world around us \u2013 a complex world of artifice and subterfuge in which the idealist can barely survive. \u00a0A shadowy network of lies and manipulation continue to create pain and suffering for many, and at times we seem to be slipping even further from the healing and abundance that we all crave.<\/p>\nStill, each one of us has the power to create our own light and majesty \u2013 to open doorways of opportunity and love and transform not only our lives but the lives of those around us. \u00a0In the Piscean age, most of \u00a0humanity surrendered (Pisces) their own will to follow blindly in the path of strong leaders of the world\u2019s four major religions. \u00a0As we move into the Aquarian Age, we must be our own leaders. \u00a0We are the ones who are responsible for the world \u2013 not only our personal world, but also the great humanity of which we are a part.<\/p>\n[related_posts limit=\u201d5\u2033 image=\u201d50\u2033]<\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Tina Malia\u2019s voice and music is expansive and opens the heart and soul to the yearning for awakening and the hope that transformation is truly possible, for the planet and for all people.
