To all my anonymous readers who fear that I\u2019m staggering around drunkenly, one of the most precious gifts the Catholic Church has given me is the knowledge that the proper appreciation and enjoyment of all the good things God has given us is not excessive, nor sinful, but is indeed exactly how we were meant to live.\u00a0<\/i>

<\/i>
I love that about Catholicism. We are charged to love life fully, and love everyone in this life just as fully. There\u2019s no talk of those saved and those damned. Who are we to know? Who are we to judge? There\u2019s just us, humans, beautiful and sinful and stupid and wonderful, loving each other because we were loved first.<\/p>\n

And also, there\u2019s this.<\/p>\n

I could go on and on and on about what I love about the Church. It\u2019s treatment of the dignity of the human person. It\u2019s unequalled, unparalleled elevation of women and respect for the dignity of the female body. It\u2019s incredible, staggering diversity. The sacred beauty of the Church\u2019s consecrated people. The way our priests lay down their lives, sometimes literally, for us. The Church\u2019s unfailing defense of life, all life, everywhere.
