    So first, thanks to Steph <\/a>for giving me the award. It\u2019s pretty awesome. I need to figure out how to display it on my sidebar now.<\/p>\n

    Next\u2026seven things about myself. Really? All right, then, since it\u2019s in the rules.<\/p>\n

    <\/div>\n
    My favorite flowers are white and orange lilies, followed closely by Gerbera daisies (also in orange and white). I also have a sweet little hidden affection for tulips and daffodils, but those are slightly too ethereal and romantic for me. Something about the bright, bold colors of the lilies and the daisies and their big, wide-open faces really gets me. <\/div>\n

    Chocolate is an absolutely essential component to the continuation of my existence. Even when we were grain and sugar free, which we\u2019re going back to next week, I had a cup of hot chocolate every night. I had to. I can\u2019t live without chocolate.\u00a0<\/div>\n

    <\/div>\n
    \u00a0I\u2019m a big sci-fi nerd. I love Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Dune, The Lord of the Rings\u2026I could go on, but you get the picture. In fact, when I was pregnant with Charlotte the Ogre and I watched all the Star Trek movies in a week, and I spent many hours reading the Trekkie Wiki.<\/a> For that week, I was in serious danger of becoming a Trekkie. <\/div>\n

    <\/div>\n
    I desperately want to name my next daughter (if we\u2019re blessed with another girl) Auden. The Ogre keeps objecting to this, saying that we can\u2019t name our female daughter after a gay male poet, but I disagree. I think Auden\u2019s struggles with his sexuality are so representative of the battle we all face against the culture of death that, frankly, the fact that he was sleeping with men and feeling terribly conflicted about it while most of the other poets of his time (read: the disgusting Beats) were sleeping with everything and feeling just dandy about it earns him my respect. That, combined with his poetic prowess, make him a worthy namesake for my child, in my opinion.<\/div>\n

    Auden, I love thee. Even though I feel slightly disloyal to Wilbur by saying this, Lullaby <\/i>is my favorite poem ever written. And I can just see, in my\u00a0 mind\u2019s eye, my little Auden. She\u2019s right there, with her little blond hair and big blue eyes. I just have to convince the Ogre.\u00a0 <\/div>\n

    I have a sparkling water problem. Seriously. It\u2019s getting out of control.\u00a0<\/div>\n

    I guess it comes from all the time I spent in Italy, but I much prefer sparkling water to regular water. Here I buy the 99 cent Trader Joe\u2019s brand, but in Italy my hands-down favorite water is Ferrarelle, which I thought was only available in Europe. But the other day I was winding my way through Whole Foods looking for coconut flour when the clouds parted and the angels sang and there, on the bottom shelf, were three battered-looking bottles of Ferrarelle.\u00a0<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    I immediately scooped them up and didn\u2019t even blink when the cashier asked me to pay three dollars each <\/i>for them. <\/div>\n

    I need an intervention.<\/div>\n

    I have a tattoo on my hip, because once upon a time I used to think that I was cool. Back then, my tattoo was Exhibit A of my coolness.<\/div>\n

    Now, I\u2019ve embraced my geek-dom. And my stupid tattoo is Exhibit A.<\/div>\n

    I also have a nose piercing, which I love. It was a tradition among lots of UD girls to get their noses pierced during the Rome semester, and while I didn\u2019t particularly like the look, I did it anyway because I was bored.\u00a0<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    Now, I love it. I\u2019ve grown very attached to it. Every so often my piercing will get slightly infected and after worrying about dying from septicemia, my second instinct is always to fervently hope it clears up because I would be very sad if I ever had to remove my nose ring.\u00a0<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    In case you\u2019re wondering, my parents hate it and the Ogre\u2019s parents hate it, but the Ogre loves it.\u00a0 <\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    Okay, now that you know more than you ever wanted to know about me, let\u2019s move on to rule three, shall we? <\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    This is the part where I pass on the Versatile Blogger award to ten recently discovered new bloggers. Sadly, I\u2019m interpreting this to mean that I can\u2019t use my old standby favorites Kassie<\/a>, Hallie<\/a>, and Melanie<\/a>, but must move on to newer (though certainly not greener) pastures. <\/div>\n

    I went to school with Anne, and she is one of the sweetest, funniest, friendliest girls I\u2019ve ever met. Her blog is great (you should particularly check out The Romance of the Toilet Paper), so go check it out!<\/div>\n

    Bonnie at Learning to Be a Newlywed<\/a><\/div>\n
    <\/a><\/div>\n
    Bonnie\u2019s son, James, was born on September 16th without a heartbeat. He had no pulse for 61 minutes. Yet miraculously (and the doctors have indeed confirmed it as a miracle<\/a>) he is now thriving, with minimal (if any) brain damage. It is incredible to read back through Bonnie\u2019s archives and see God healing their little boy, and to see the strength with which Bonnie and her husband faced this incredibly difficult time.<\/div>\n

    Yet another girl I went to school with (whose name I can\u2019t find on her site, so I\u2019m assuming she\u2019s going for anonymity and doesn\u2019t want me blathering it all over the blogosphere), this blogger is absolutely great. I spent way too long reading her entire blog yesterday while my children destroyed the house. I highly recommend that you do the same.\u00a0<\/div>\n
