Is what I thoughtlessly told Sienna yesterday\u00a0 when her \u201cclothes that can get wet\u201d ended up being a white t-shirt and white pants. Lucky for me, she was so excited about the prospect of pouring ice water over our heads that she didn\u2019t even ask what a wet t-shirt contest is, deo gratias<\/em>.<\/p>\n Our good friends from California, the Healys, challenged our family to the ice bucket challenge. We accepted \u2014 with only a brief discussion* of the oxymoronic qualities of social media awareness \u2014 and our neighbor filmed it for us last night.<\/p>\n Tim Muldoon<\/a> from Patheos also challenged me last week, but in lieu of doing it twice we\u2019ll be making a small donation.\u00a0I\u2019ve seen first-hand how devastating a disease ALS is for everyone involved. While a cure is absolutely a noble goal, there are tens of thousands of people in America alone who need practical help and support right now, so we\u2019ll be donating to Compassionate Care ALS<\/a>. Rather than focusing on medical research to help future ALS patients, CCALS <\/a>focuses on current ALS patients, providing individualized support for people living with ALS, as well as their families and caregivers.<\/p>\n
