Charlotte and I got a rare couple of hours alone in the car this morning, and as always with Charlotte, our conversation was both terrifying and delightful.

Me: \u201cToday is Monday. It\u2019s the start of a new week!\u201d<\/p>\n
Charlotte: \u201cSo today is the first day?\u201d<\/p>\n
Me: \u201cYep, that\u2019s right. Monday is the first day of the week.\u201d<\/p>\n
Charlotte: \u201cSo tomorrow is the second day?\u201d<\/p>\n
Me: \u201cYes, Tuesday is the second day.\u201d<\/p>\n
Charlotte: \u201cAnd there are seven days?\u201d<\/p>\n
Me: \u201cYep.\u201d<\/p>\n
*pensive silence<\/em>*<\/p>\nCharlotte: \u201cAnd on the seventh day, do we all die?\u201d<\/p>\n
Me: *swerves wildly and sputters* \u201cNo! No, of course not. I mean, I hope not. But why would you think we would all die on the seventh day?\u201d<\/p>\n
Charlotte: \u201cBecause that\u2019s the end. There\u2019s no more days after seven.\u201d<\/p>\n
Me: \u201cWell, yeah, but then you start all over again with a new week.\u201d<\/p>\n
Charlotte: \u201cHmmm\u2026I don\u2019t think so.\u201d<\/p>\n
Me:\u00a0 *inwardly hoping desperately that my daughter is not a pint-sized Cassandra for our modern world<\/em>*<\/p>\nCharlotte: \u201cI want to see Grandaddy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Me: \u201cMe too, sweetheart, but we have to wait until we get to heaven to see him again.\u201d<\/p>\n
Charlotte: \u201cSo, when I die, will my own personal ghost go to heaven?\u201d<\/p>\n
Me: \u201cUhhh\u2026do you\u00a0 mean your soul?\u201d<\/p>\n
Charlotte: \u201cWhat\u2019s a soul?\u201d<\/p>\n
Me: \u201cA soul is half of you. You are made up of a soul and a body. When you die, your soul is the part that goes to heaven, and your body waits here until Jesus wakes it up again.\u201d<\/p>\n
