\tI must confess trepidation,
\nWhen Fall begins to fall,
\n\tDo we count the cost
\nOf the killing frost,
\n\tOr do we revel in the riot
\nOf restless red leaves?<\/p>\n

\tA chill falls on the fairway,
\nYour breath hangs in the air,
\n\tBut shall I celebrate the denouement
\nOr should I even care?
\n\tFor the killing frost is inevitable
\nSilently slaying summer.<\/p>\n

\tIt\u2019s one thing to age in a cycle
\nAnd bounce right back in the Spring
\n\tBut alas that\u2019s the story of Nature
\nBut not of everything.
\n\tFor humans, our lives are linear
\nStraight lines with a period at the end. <\/p>\n

\tYes the killing frost is a harbinger
\nOf quick decay and death
\n\tSo all our seconds are precious
\nAnd singular is every breath.
\n\tRevelry meets its requiem
\nThe day the music dies. <\/p>\n

\tYet imagine a line extended
\nFrom here to eternity.
\n\tImagine a life everlasting
\nMuch longer than a seasonal tree
\n\tImagine human destiny is different
\nThan Nature, after all.<\/p>\n

\tLet the killing frost do its deadly worst
\nFor as far as the eye can see,
\n\tBut the sun will rise in victory
\nAnd death shall cease to be
\n\tFor there is a season after Fall,
\nNot the Winter of our discontent,<\/p>\n

\tIt\u2019s the season of resurrection
\n It comes right after Lent. <\/p>\n
