<\/a><\/p>\nNew Zealand Herald writes a few statements from Evangeline Lilly on her role as Tauriel, the Mirkwood warrior elf, in the Hobbit movies.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019s actually the head of the Elven guard. \u00a0She\u2019s the big shot in the army,\u201d said Lilly.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo she knows how to wield any weapon, but the primary weapons that she uses are a bow and arrow and two daggers. And she\u2019s lethal and deadly. You definitely wouldn\u2019t want to be caught in a dark alley next to Tauriel.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Canadian actress also said Tauriel appears in the second Hobbit film more than the first.
\n\u201dShe comes into the first film near the end, and has a very small part to play. Her role in the second film is much more involved \u2026 I think the role is becoming a bit more demanding than I had expected it to be.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a lot more for me to do now, which is a lot of fun, but it\u2019s a little more pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lilly told EW she still had five months\u2019 worth of The Hobbit to shoot in New Zealand, but was loving her time here.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn some ways, it feels really familiar. \u00a0I\u2019m from Canada, and New Zealand feels like you took all the best bits of Canada and squished them onto a tiny island like Hawaii. \u00a0I was absolutely blown away by the beauty of the South Island.<\/p>\n
