And uninvited too<\/p>\n

You realize you\u2019re helpless<\/p>\n
And have no final say<\/p>\n
You\u2019ve lost control quite quickly<\/p>\n
And it\u2019s too late to pray<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Yet death can be a mercy<\/p>\n
Instead of endless pain<\/p>\n
Life\u2019s not endless sunshine<\/p>\n
But it shouldn\u2019t be just rain<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
I miss my friend quite deeply<\/p>\n
It chills me to the bone<\/p>\n
One moment we\u2019re together<\/p>\n
And now I\u2019m quite alone.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Where\u2019s the world where death has died<\/p>\n
And we don\u2019t live in fear<\/p>\n
Because we are quite mortal<\/p>\n
The shadow creeps too near<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
But death is not final<\/p>\n
Can\u2019t have the final say<\/p>\n
It has its pyrrhic victory<\/p>\n
That lasts but for a day<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
The prophets promised lasting life<\/p>\n
That buries even graves<\/p>\n
And carries on eternally<\/p>\n
Because the Maker saves<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
And not just new humans<\/p>\n
But new creation too<\/p>\n
All creatures great and small<\/p>\n
Can all be made anew<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Meanwhile I am in mourning<\/p>\n
Not like those who have no hope<\/p>\n
The night can\u2019t last forever<\/p>\n
I\u2019ll climb that final slope<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
And see with joy renewal<\/p>\n
Redemption, rescue too<\/p>\n
Wolves and lambs together<\/p>\n
And humans made brand new<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
A world resurrected<\/p>\n
Sin, sorrow, suffering gone<\/p>\n
Disease, decay are banished<\/p>\n
Creation carries on<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
The river of life flows through it<\/p>\n
The trees with leaves that heal<\/p>\n
And what seemed a dream to many<\/p>\n
Has become the realest real<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
So I\u2019ll not say goodbye now<\/p>\n
To my departed friend<\/p>\n
Instead I\u2019ll say \u2018au revoir\u2019<\/p>\n
And look beyond this end.<\/p>\n
