<\/a><\/p>\nSometimes small is better.\u00a0 And that is true when it comes to lexicons you can carry around with you to Greek class and church, and Bible study.\u00a0 Paul Jackson has done us a considerable service in producing this lexicon which actually has an amazing amount of words and definitions in it for a book that barely tips the scales at just over 200 pages.\u00a0 By contrast my Brill Dictionary of Ancient Greek comes in at a rotund 2500 pages and is too heavy to carry in my school backpack or anywhere!\u00a0 What I especially appreciate about Paul\u2019s lexicon is it has a svelt Introduction and abbreviations charts.\u00a0 \u00a0Going forward this will be the lexicon I recommend to my students in my exegesis classes, as a tool they can bring to class and use a reference when they get stuck translating a word or a phrase.\u00a0 \u00a0 And an especially thanks to old friend George Guthrie for being the consulting editor for this useful volume, and to Zondervan for making this available.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
