There is so much to see in this exhibit, and various of the items are probably on loan from the nearby archaeology museum in Naples.\u00a0 Here below is a very interesting statue of a woman, which I\u2019m not sure what it signifies.<\/p>\n

Women along with their servants were normally in charge of most tasks within the house, including in charge of food, cleaning of various items including glass items.\u00a0 \u00a0Believe it or not the item below is a loaf of bread incinerated or turned to charcoal by intense heat from the eruption\u2026<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The collection or purchase of seeds was important as well\u2026<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Here we likely have a stele of\u00a0 a teacher approached\u00a0 by\u00a0 a child\u00a0 with\u00a0 a scroll.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Just above are two stylii that the child would have used to learn how to write his letters.\u00a0 \u00a0Below we have a family\u2019s trunk where valuables would be kept.<\/p>\n

Notice the glass jars both above and below. It is a great shame this exhibit didn\u2019t use non-glare glass to display these antiquities\u2026.<\/p>\n
