Phil Dunn was a celebrated trial lawyer for more than 30 years in Ventura County, where he defended people struggling in onerous situations. He has taken the leadership helm at the Serving California foundation to scale his healing work throughout the state. Phil is an experienced humanitarian, working as a founding member of the Baja Christian Ministries, where he has helped build more than 2,000 homes for people in Mexico. Phil maintains a private law practice, Dunn and Haney. For his work on People vs. Efren Cruz, in which he proved the innocence of his client thus overturning a murder conviction and life sentence, he received a \u201cLocal Heroes\u201d award from the Santa Barbara Independent, and \u201cspecial recognition\u201d from the California State Assembly and the United States Congress from Assemblywoman Hannah Beth Jackson and Congresswoman Lois Capps.
