Most people know David as a singer, songwriter, peacemaker, activist and author. And over the past 15+ years, I am grateful to have come to call him a friend, but David\u2019s real mark on my life is as the soundtrack that was played during the birth of all three of my daughters. As refrains of \u201cHard-Earned Smile, \u201cWe\u2019re All Each Other\u2019s Angels\u201d and \u201cS.S. Bathtub\u201d played in the background, David\u2019s voice and music helped welcome my babies into the world. And over the past 16 years, the girls have grown up with David through his concerts, his music and his ministry.<\/p>\n Yep, David, has a pretty special place in the life of our family and for his\u00a0ministry\u00a0and gifts we are thankful.<\/p>\n So it is with great pleasure that I commend David\u2019s latest project to you, his book \u201cWhite Flour\u201d available on Amazon<\/a> and davidlamotte.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n White Flour<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is David LaMotte\u2019s second children\u2019s book, with illustrations by Jenn Hales.\u00a0 In Seussian rhyme, it tells the funny and inspiring story of the day that the Ku Klux Klan met the Coup Clutz Clowns, who offered a whimsical and wise retort to their racist rally. The poem that provides the text for the book was inspired by true events in Knoxville, TN in 2007.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Many folks may have heard of the 2007 Knoxville, TN march<\/a>, but David has captured the event with a sense of passion and imagination that brings that day to life in amazing ways. Do not make the mistake to dismiss this simply as a\u00a0children\u2019s\u00a0book, because, as so many other children\u2019s book do, David\u2019s words and Jenn Hale\u2019s<\/a> illustrations, challenge all people, old and young, to reflect on the nature of what it means to be community.
