Okay, so in a recent post, I admitted that while\u00a0I do not hate Mitt Romney<\/a>,\u00a0I was not going to vote for him. And while I can certainly take the high road about personal attacks on candidates, as one who does not want him or the\u00a0accompanying\u00a0Republican\u00a0platform elected, if you are a supporter and choosing not to vote, \u201cThank you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Because, as David LaMotte<\/a> puts it so\u00a0eloquently\u00a0in this\u00a0video, \u201cThe Myth of Democracy\u201d (2010),\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s not run by all of us, it\u2019s only run by the people who show up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Take a look<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/iframe>\n<p>So in the end, if you don\u2019t vote, by simple percentages, my votes counts that much more. Again, thank you.<\/p>\n<p>And if you missed the other five reasons that David argues that you SHOULD vote:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>If you don\u2019t vote, you can\u2019t whine. That\u2019s the rule.<\/li>\n<li>It feels good.<\/li>\n<li>You get a groovy \u201cI voted\u201d sticker.<\/li>\n<li>A lot of people died so you can vote.<\/li>\n<li>If you don\u2019t vote, someone else gets to vote for you.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>It\u2019s that last one that I am really hoping you\u2019ll ignore because I would LOVE to cast your vote for you. I am still not sure who it will be for, Barack Obama or Jill Stien, but you\u2019re not voting anyway, so what do you care? So if you would lean towards views that Mitt\u00a0Romney\u00a0and the Republican Party hold and have better things to do than vote, by all means please skip this silly voting thing.
