Newsweek\u00a0<\/em>asked former\u00a0Vogue\u00a0<\/em>editor Andre Leon Talley about the physical demands of high heels. \u201cAs you get older in these shoes, your feet are going to have problems,\u201d Talley says. \u201cI am not gonna say Melania is gonna have them soon, but sooner or later she is going have to come down off that high arch.\u201d<\/div>\n

Besides, isn\u2019t it supposed to be sexist to tell women what they can or can\u2019t wear? Isn\u2019t it slut-shaming or something to tell women they aren\u2019t allowed to be sexy?<\/div>\n
Newsweek\u00a0<\/em>even consulted a psychologist and an anthropologist to tell us why Melania and Ivana wear high\u00a0heels: they \u201cjust exaggerate the femaleness of the walk. So to deconstruct why Trump women wear high heels: They are just buying into traditional binary views of male and female.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The anthropologist made sure to note that, \u201cWhen women wear high heels at work, they send sexual signals that should be avoided if they want to be taken seriously.\u201d Ivanka is a successful businesswoman and entrepreneur. She can\u2019t be taken seriously wearing this?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
I thought we weren\u2019t supposed to slut shame? \u00a0But, of course, the culture is perfectly fine to do that as long as the subject is conservative.<\/p>\n
And by the way, Donald Trump didn\u2019t \u201cnormalize\u201d high heels. \u00a0Does anyone remember this?<\/p>\n
