This \u201cState of the Union\u201d video by Kathy Griffin has so many hilarious moments.\u00a0 She begins by talking about the empowerment of women.\u00a0 Then, she gets more personal.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just want you guys to know I\u2019m fully in the middle of a blacklist,\u201d she said. \u201cI am in the middle of a Hollywood blacklist.\u00a0 It is real.\u00a0 I am not booked on any talk shows.\u00a0 I\u2019m selling tickets worldwide, which is really hard when you don\u2019t have any sort of television platform, no one has your back, and everyone thinks you\u2019re crazy.\u00a0 But a handful of people think I\u2019m kind of onto something.\u201d<\/p>\n
I doubt she\u2019s actually on any sort of \u201cblacklist.\u201d\u00a0 I bet she wasn\u2019t working much when she posed with what looked like the bloody, severed head of the President of the United States anyway, right?<\/p>\n
She kept talking.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just want you guys to know.\u00a0 When I get home, I do not have one single day of paid work in front of me. And people who want me to go back and start in clubs and do ten minutes again\u2026 I don\u2019t mean to be an asshole, but no.\u00a0 I\u2019m not going to do that.\u00a0 I\u2019ve worked way too hard to go back and work for free and do the club scene again.\u00a0 Because this is some bullshit. Because I\u2019ve been blacklisted.\u201d<\/p>\n
Again with this \u201cblacklist.\u201d\u00a0 Here\u2019s a thought.\u00a0 She\u2019s supposed to be a comedian, right?\u00a0 But no one actually finds her funny. That\u2019s definitely a problem for Griffin, but it\u2019s not a problem for anyone else.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy legal bills are through the roof, obviously, because I\u2019m doing something I really believe in.\u201d\u00a0 Wait, what?\u00a0 I thought her legal bills were through the roof because she is an abject idiot.\u00a0 Not in her mind.\u00a0 She said, \u201d I still say the end goal is for younger women and younger LGBT folks, or disenfranchised people of any kind can watch me survive.\u201d<\/p>\n
Got that?\u00a0 Kathy Griffin needs to survive so she can inspire young gay people\u2026\u00a0 Ha!\u00a0 How\u2019s that for cloaking your stupid decision in a worthy cause?\u00a0 Then, she has the gall to compare herself to Rose McGowan, the brave woman who outed Harvey Weinstein for his freaky, horrific abuse\u2026\u00a0 and she said that she believes she\u2019s targeted in the same way.<\/p>\n
McGowan, of course,\u00a0said she was \u201cblacklisted\u201d because she got raped,<\/a>\u00a0and then she absolutely changed the culture by revealing what a disgusting man Harvey Weinstein is.\u00a0 In other words, McGowan did something important.\u00a0 Griffin is merely a post script to pop culture history.\u00a0 She\u00a0hasn\u2019t been funny in years \u2013 if she ever has been.\u00a0 I honestly haven\u2019t followed the downward trajectory of her sorry career, but I know she claimed to be on the \u201cD List\u201d years before she did her attention-getting stunt with the President\u2019s head.<\/p>\n If you\u2019d like to see exactly how the Palins feel about Griffin, click here<\/a>.\u00a0 In the meantime, I guess I have to admit it.\u00a0 Griffin, in her self-serving video, finally made me laugh.\u00a0 Because watching her career go down in flames is actually the first funny things she\u2019s pulled off in a long time.<\/p>\n Watch her video below:<\/p>\n
