Well, my recent post defending Hillary Clinton<\/a> raised some eyebrows, but I definitely believe that we should try to be less obsessed \u2013 and critical \u2013 of the way we look.\u00a0 That\u2019s easier said than done, of course, with so many commercials trying to get us to buy the very latest beauty product and so many magazines airbrushing out the very imperfections that make us human.<\/p>\n

Julie Smith Lowe <\/strong>(a <\/strong>counselor at CCEF<\/a>) writes about this in an article called, \u201cHow Should We View Ourselves<\/a>:\u201d<\/p>\n

God\u2019s Word teaches us how to have an accurate view of self. Think about 2 Corinthians 4:7<\/a>,\u00a0\u201cBut we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.\u201d\u00a0This passage identifies us as \u201cjars of clay\u201d with a treasure of great value inside of us. As inconspicuous clay pots we \u201cshow that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Easier said than done?\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 But read the whole thing and give yourself a little extra room to be normal today.
