The beach is the best! \u00a0Although if you don\u2019t plan things correctly, you may wind up just doing all of your typical mom duties in close proximity to the ocean. \u00a0A beach view for dishes is nice, but you are still doing dishes. \u00a0I had to laugh at this.<\/a><\/p>\n

This might be a our Christmas Card too.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We just returned from a great week at the Jersey Shore. \u00a0I pre-cooked meals, we ate off of paper plates, and we brought a babysitter along with us, so it was actually a real vacation. \u00a0We returned this weekend and started school yesterday \u2014 which was a reality check after a nice week at the beach. \u00a0Today is already going much more smoothly, so I am going to chalk up yesterday\u2019s chaos to a bad first day. \u00a0Josie (my 19 month old) may have climbed up on top of a bookcase and eaten a black marker. \u00a0And when I got the brilliant idea to start her in the toddler circuit, she ate the play dough, and when I told her \u201cno\u201d she just threw it at me. \u00a0And all the rest of the kids laughed, except for my oldest. \u00a0My oldest scolded the baby in her best outside loud voice. \u00a0Then the baby cried and threw play dough at her too.<\/p>\n

And my kindergardener asked for my praise\/help\/assistance after every question in every workbook. \u00a0Four kids asked me questions at once, and a baby cried (screamed at the top of her lungs) for most of the morning. \u00a0\u201cLoud\u201d doesn\u2019t really capture the volume in my schoolroom. \u00a0But we managed to finish by 3:30 (we started at 7:30), and I managed not to yell. \u00a0So I\u2019m considering day one a huge success. \u00a0And today, we have nowhere to go but up!<\/p>\n

And if you are wondering why we have started school in mid August \u2014 it is not because I am overachiever. \u00a0Rather, we slack off at various points in the school year, and we will not finish by next summer if I do not begin now. \u00a0Happy Back to School and back to school planning for all of our readers!<\/p>\n

Gianna\u2019s 1st catch in the surf \u2014 a nice size bass. This is science for the first month of our school year.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
