It is known as\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyitalianwords.com\/italian-word-pesce-d-aprile-april-fools-day\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Pesce d\u2019aprile<\/a> Day in Italian. Plus some other related and nonrelated things happen on that day as well. Click on the links to read the fuller stories of the events of that day. Starting off with memorable events a couple of Happy Birthdays\u2019 are owed to Wallace\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"1875\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/1875\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">1875<\/a> \u2013\u00a0 Happy Birthday to <a title=\"Edgar Wallace\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Edgar_Wallace\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Edgar Wallace<\/a>, \u00a0British writer of sensational detective, gangster, adventure, and sci-fi novels, plays and stories.\u00a0 (d. 1932). He penned many scripts for RKO pictures, and Merian C. Cooper\u2019s \u201cgorilla picture\u201d had the most lasting influence, becoming the classic <i><a title=\"King Kong (1933 film)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/King_Kong_(1933_film)\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">King Kong<\/a><\/i> (1933). Edgar was inspired by the 1906 dinosaur invasion of Chicago when writing the script. One eyewitness account said he saw a giant ape.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-56587 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.patheos.com\/blogs\/sites\/1316\/2025\/03\/King-Kong-300x235.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"235\"><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"1885\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/1885\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">1885<\/a> \u2013 Happy Birthday to another Wallace,\u00a0 <a title=\"Wallace Beery\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wallace_Beery\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Wallace Beery<\/a>, (d. 1949). He was an American film and stage actor. He is best known for his portrayal of Bill in\u00a0<i><a title=\"Min and Bill\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Min_and_Bill\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Min and Bill<\/a><\/i>\u00a0(1930) opposite\u00a0<a title=\"Marie Dressler\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Marie_Dressler\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Marie Dressler<\/a>, as General Director Preysing in\u00a0<i><a title=\"Grand Hotel (1932 film)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Grand_Hotel_(1932_film)\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Grand Hotel<\/a><\/i>\u00a0(1932), as the pirate\u00a0<a title=\"Long John Silver\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Long_John_Silver\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Long John Silver<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0<i><a title=\"Treasure Island (1934 film)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Treasure_Island_(1934_film)\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Treasure Island<\/a><\/i>\u00a0(1934), as\u00a0<a title=\"Pancho Villa\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pancho_Villa\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Pancho Villa<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0<i><a title=\"Viva Villa!\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Viva_Villa!\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Viva Villa!<\/a><\/i>\u00a0(1934), and his title role in\u00a0<i><a title=\"The Champ (1931 film)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Champ_(1931_film)\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Champ<\/a><\/i>\u00a0(1931), for which he won the\u00a0<a title=\"Academy Award for Best Actor\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Academy_Award_for_Best_Actor\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Academy Award for Best Actor<\/a>. Beery appeared in some 250 films during a 36-year career. His contract with\u00a0<a title=\"Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer<\/a>\u00a0stipulated in 1932 that he would be paid $1 more than any other contract player at the studio. This made Beery the highest-paid film actor in the world during the early 1930s. Killing thousands of the inhabitants. Parks turned into deserts, great skyscrapers leveled by blows from the tails of the monsters, and entire population threatened in the panic and pestilence that follow the invasion.<\/p>\n<p>The last dinosaur had been slain.
