One of the pioneers of radio and television evangelization is none other than the Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen. Being a \u201cmodern\u201d saint of our times, many fondly remember gathering to listen and watch his series Life is Worth Living. Thanks to Saint Joseph Communications we have available to us the entire series in an 18 CD set.<\/p>\n

As an overview the series consists of fifty, half hour long presentations by Archbishop Sheen. Saint Joseph Communications has been able to find a vinyl source that was used for these recordings. Keeping in mind that the show began airing in 1952, we now have the cleanest copy available to us today.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor more than 30 years, Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen was the most famous Catholic leader in the United States with a worldwide radio and TV broadcast ministry. When it came to undiluted Christian teachings, Catholics and non-Catholics alike turned to \u201cBishop Sheen\u201d because they knew they could trust him to \u201ctell it like it is.\u201d And you still can!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite his \u201ccommon touch,\u201d the beloved broadcast pioneer was among the best-educated bishops in the United States. Fulton Sheen earned graduate degrees in theology and philosophy from the Catholic University of America, the University of Louvain and the Collegio Angelico in Rome. Moreover, he was a full and enthusiastic participant in Vatican II, and no one has understood or presented more clearly what the Council was truly attempting to accomplish than Archbishop Sheen.\u201d<\/p>\n

In closing this series is a must have set in any Catholic\u2019s library of talks. Archbishop Sheen covers it all in a solid, no holds barred approach that explains the faith in no uncertain terms. This set should frankly be required listening for all Catholics today. Despite the span of time that has elapsed since their original airing these talks are just as relevant today as they were then.<\/p>\n
