As Scripture tells us, not even the angels in Heaven know when Christ will <\/em>come\u00a0<\/em>to Earth again. St. Augustine sees Psalm 10 as a description of the world <\/em>r<\/em>ea<\/em>d<\/em>y <\/em>f<\/em>or the return of Christ as <\/em>King<\/em>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Now, after the hidden things of the Son, of which many things have been said in this Psalm, the end of the same Psalm will say a little about the apparent <\/em>things of the Son. But the title is given from the hidden things, which take up the larger part of the Psalm.<\/p>\n

Indeed, the very day of the Lord\u2019s coming may be rightly counted among the hidden things of the Son, although the very presence of the Lord itself will be apparent. For of that day it is said, \u201cno one knows, not even the angels in Heaven, nor the Son\u201d (Mark 13:32) What can be more hidden than what is said to be hid- den even to the Judge himself\u2014not as regards knowledge, but disclosure?<\/p>\n

But concerning the hidden things of the Son, even if you prefer to take it not as the Son of God, but as David himself, to whose name the whole Psalter is attributed (for the Psalms, as we know, are called the Psalms of David), then listen to those words in which it is said to the Lord, \u201cHave mercy on us, Son of David\u201d (Matt. 20:30), and so even in this way understand the same Lord Christ, concern- ing whose hidden things is the inscription of this Psalm. For so likewise is it said by the angel: \u201cthe Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David\u201d (Luke\u00a01:32).\u00a0\u2013St. Augustine, Exposition on Psalm 10<\/em>, 15<\/p>\n

Since not even the angels know the time, am I ready for the coming of Christ right<\/p>\n

now? What would it take to make me ready?<\/p>\n

CLOSING PRAYER<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lord Jesus Christ, <\/em>send me your angels to keep my soul pure, so that <\/em>I may be ready for your glorious coming, when you will judge the living and the dead according to their works.<\/em><\/p>\n
