Washington D.C., Jul 26, 2012 \/ 02:19 am (CNA<\/a>).- A group of concerned mothers across the country is protesting an upcoming television show that depicts homosexuality and surrogate childbearing as \u201cthe new normal family.\u201d<\/p>\n

\t\u201cNBC's \u2018The New Normal\u2019 is attempting to desensitize America and our children,\u201d said the pro-family organization, One Million Moms. \u201cIt is the opposite of how families are designed and created. You cannot recreate the biological wheel.\u201d<\/p>\n

\tThe group, which is a ministry of the American Family Association, is protesting the upcoming show, \u201cThe New Normal,\u201d which is set to air in September on the Comcast-owned network, NBC.<\/p>\n

\tThe show chronicles the story of a gay couple that hires a surrogate to have their baby.<\/p>\n

\tThe NBC website describes it as \u201ca fresh new comedy about the new normal family.\u201d<\/p>\n

\t\u201cThese days, families come in all forms \u2013 single dads, double moms, sperm donors, egg donors, one-night-stand donors,\u201d proclaims the description. \u201cIt's 2012 and anything goes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\tThe show has attracted the attention of the One Million Moms campaign, which works to defend children and family values from negative cultural influences, including vulgarity, violence and sexual immortality in entertainment media.<\/p>\n

\tThe organization is now encouraging its members to e-mail Comcast and NBC to voice their concerns about the show.<\/p>\n

\tIt also said that it plans to contact \u201cany and all sponsors of this program if it is aired.\u201d<\/p>\n

\t\u201cLet NBC know you and your family will not be watching the series premiere of \u2018The New Normal,\u2019\u201d the group urged on its Facebook page.

\n\t\u201cLet them also know you are prepared to join thousands of other voices in urging advertisers to place it on their \u2018do not advertise\u2019 list,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n

\tOne Million Moms has previously worked to contact the advertisers of other shows that it deemed offensive, leading several of them to remove their ads.<\/p>\n

\tThe group said that a lack of advertisers due to efforts such as theirs contributed to the cancellation of shows including \u201cSkins,\u201d \u201cThe Playboy Club\u201d and \u201cGood Christians B-tches.\u201d<\/p>\n

\tNow, it hopes that thousands of concerned parents will speak out against a show that threatens to undermine family and desensitize the American public to sexual immorality.<\/p>\n

\t\u201cNBC is using public airwaves to continue to subject families to the decay of morals and values, and the sanctity of marriage in attempting to redefine marriage,\u201d the group said.<\/p>\n

\t\u201cThese things are harmful to our society, and this program is damaging to our culture,\u201d it argued, adding that \u201c[m]illions of Americans strongly believe that marriage should be between one man and one woman.\u201d<\/p>\n
