Angels Bible Scriptures<\/span><\/h2>\n

The word angel basically means \u201cmessenger of God\u201d and we see angels involved heavily in doing these very same things throughout the Bible.\u00a0 We may have been visited by angels and not even known it, which will make it all the more interesting someday in heaven to see how many times we were visited by them and didn\u2019t even know about it and how often angels may have intervened on our behalf to save our lives or spare us from serious injury.\u00a0 Here are some of the top Bible verses about angels.<\/p>\n

Hebrews 13:2 \u201cDo not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

If you knew that you could be visited by an angel or may have had contact with one or more already, you might be more careful in how you show treat strangers and them hospitably wouldn\u2019t you? \u00a0It makes us all think differently about the way we should treat others who we don\u2019t know, even though we are commanded to live like Christ anyway.\u00a0 Think about that the next time you see a stranger and perhaps offer them a helping hand or neglect in doing so.<\/p>\n

\n

Hebrews 1:14<\/span> \u201cAre they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Once again we find a great Bible verse about angels in the Book of Hebrews.\u00a0 The author had just been writing about the supremacy of Christ over angels and over all of creation in the first chapter of Hebrews.\u00a0 When we consider that angels are \u201cministering spirits\u201d that are \u201csent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation\u201d you do understand that this speaks about believers, right?\u00a0 Imagine that we have angels around us, ministering to us, in unknown ways, but they are there\u2026for our sake.\u00a0 That is remarkable.<\/p>\n

Matthew 4:11<\/span> \u201cThen the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him.\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Even Jesus Christ had angels ministering to Him so we are not alone in this regard.\u00a0 Today, the angels are glorifying Jesus and praising Him continuously.\u00a0 How difficult that must have been to be directly tempted by the Tempter, and to endure 40 days and nights in fasting, hardship, living in the Wilderness with the heat of the day and the cold of night.\u00a0 We don\u2019t see our angels when they minister to us\u2026but I wonder and might conclude that Jesus probably did see the angels that came to minister to Him after the greatest temptation that has ever been given to anyone, at any time, and in any place.<\/p>\n

Luke 22:42-44 \u201cFather, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.\u201d \u00a0And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. \u00a0And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Didn\u2019t\u2019 something just like this happen in Matthew 4:11<\/span><\/a>?\u00a0 Yes, but this was much different because it was after the temptation in the Wilderness that the angels came to minister to Jesus while here in the Garden of Gethsemane, the angels ministered to Him before the greatest suffering and sin bearing that anyone would ever endure, again for anyone, at any time, and at any place in all history.\u00a0 These angels ministered to Him prior to this \u201ccup\u201d that Jesus prayed three times to have removed from Him but the Father said no but Jesus said \u201cNot my will, but yours be done\u201d so the angels ministered to Him at the time that He needed them most.\u00a0 I wonder if angels also come at our most desperate times to.\u00a0 \u00a0It is quite possible that they do.<\/p>\n

Psalm 91:11 \u201cFor he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This is one of the most precious verses about angels in the entire Bible to me.\u00a0 I sense that angels are given charge over us.\u00a0 I don\u2019t mean that we have specific angels that are just for us, like guardian angels, but the fact that angels are given charge over us I believe is certain.\u00a0 Psalm 91 is a Psalm about facing all kinds of obstacles, hazards, and the potential for death all around the author.\u00a0 I believe that God knows just when to dispense the angels, having all foreknowledge, but the part I like most about this verse is that these angels are given \u201ccharge over\u201d us and that they are directed (commanded?)\u00a0 \u201cto keep [us] in all [our] ways.\u201d\u00a0 In what ways we don\u2019t exactly know today and so we will have to wait to hear just how when we see the Lord face to face.<\/p>\n

\"Bible<\/a><\/p>\n

Acts 7:23<\/span> \u201cFor this very night there stood before me an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I worship, and he said, \u2018Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar. And behold, God has granted you all those who sail with you.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Here is direct evidence that angels not only minister to us but they are also messengers of God and this must have truly comforted, not only Paul, but the whole crew on the ship for they all feared that their lives would be lost in a great storm at sea.\u00a0 The angel clearly denotes that \u201cGod has granted you all those who sail with you\u201d meaning that God sent the angel for the express purpose of communicating to Paul some reassurance and words of great comfort. \u00a0This message not only comforted Paul but all the crew as well.\u00a0 \u00a0If that is not ministering to him, I don\u2019t know what would be.<\/p>\n

Acts 5:17-21 \u201cBut the high priest rose up, and all who were with him (that is, the party of the Sadducees), and filled with jealousy\u00a0they arrested the apostles and put them in the public prison. \u00a0But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, \u201cGo and stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this Life.\u201d \u00a0And when they heard this, they entered the temple at daybreak and began to teach.\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I included several verses here for context and not only the verse about the angel.\u00a0 The reason I did was because the apostles had no idea if they would be killed or not or if they would be imprisoned for a long period of time.\u00a0 Apparently God wanted to let the apostles know that it would only be for a short time and so God sent an angel with yet another message to not only let them know they would immediately be returning again to the temple preaching the gospel, but the angel gave them the help that they needed to make it possible to continue to preach by opening the prison doors and then bringing them out.<\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/span><\/h2>\n

If you have never repented and trusted in Jesus Christ as Savior, the angels<\/a> are not available to help you, they are not able to keep \u00a0you from danger or death, and they cannot minister to you because angels are only sent to minister to believers (Heb 1:14<\/span>).\u00a0 I strongly urge you today to come to saving faith in Jesus Christ today, if you haven\u2019t already done so, then someday you can directly ask God about all the times that angels intervened for you and perhaps even saved your life. \u00a0So be careful in how you treat strangers\u2026they could be angels and you wouldn\u2019t even know it.<\/p>\n
