Sometimes life hurts. We live in an imperfect world, filled with imperfect people, and though we carry on and do our best, occasionally our hearts begin to feel the weight of that imperfection. We will all face days when our hope seems only a tiny bit bigger than our pain. Jesus knew we would. He spoke of the troubles we would face in this life, but left the assurance that HE was bigger than all of them. He was, He is, and we can take our greatest comfort in knowing that He always will be. Read on, and lift up your head. Today may be hard, but tomorrow is coming. And with it, the end to all broken hearts.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\n

Romans 8:37<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.<\/span> <\/em><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It is easy to believe that we are at our weakest when we are struggling. Feelings of defeat and loss often lead us to believe we are alone. But Romans 8:37 tells us that we have within us a love that wins all battles. A love that cannot be taken away, regardless of our failure or loss. In the moments when we cannot visualize a finish line, the Bible says that Jesus has already won.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Psalm 42:11<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n

Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.<\/span> <\/em><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The greatest thing that comes from faith in Christ is that putting your hope in him will not be in vain. When we follow Jesus we can trust that-all things will work together for those who love him. <\/em> When all seems lost, knowing that He loves us, and that one day it all will make sense, makes me feel more hopeful than anything else.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

John 16:33<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.<\/span> <\/em><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Peace. Something we all crave, seek, long for. So much time is spent trying to find the thing that will give us our own sense of peace, and we often look in all the wrong places to find it. Jesus said we can have it. We just have to remember that there is no trouble this world can throw at us, that wasn\u2019t defeated by His sacrifice. We find our peace there-in Christ alone.<\/p>\n

Psalm 147:3<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n

There is no way to get through life without acquiring a few battle scars on the way. Our wounds serve a purpose in this life by reminding us of our need for a healer. We just have to take our injured hearts to Him and allow him to work on them.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

2 Thes 3:5<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n

May the Lord direct your hearts into God\u2019s love and Christ\u2019s perseverance.<\/span> <\/em><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I love the word perseverance <\/em>in this verse. It reminds me that Jesus never<\/em> gave up on the cross. And that God\u2019s love was the reason why. He does not give up on us. Look what he went through to bring us home.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\n

Psalm 27:1<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n

The LORD is my light and my salvation\u2013 whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life\u2013 of whom shall I be afraid?<\/span> <\/em><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This was one of the first verses that I taught my children. It works for monsters under the bed now, and hopefully, later in life, for any fears that they may face. I want them to know that as long as they keep Jesus the strongest part of their lives, there is no darkness that he cannot bring to light.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\n

Phil. 4:6-7<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.<\/span> <\/em><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I love the way God invites us into a conversation with Him. This verse from Philippians encourages us to just tell him <\/em>what is on our hearts. Sometimes I think we stress, and worry, and hurt over things that seem hopeless. We wonder why they don\u2019t get better, or why we don\u2019t feel better. Then it occurs to us that we haven\u2019t once taken the problem to God. We were trying to figure it out all on our own and wondering why he was silent. This passage says that He isn\u2019t. We have been the quiet one in the conversation. He has just been waiting for us to give him our worries, so he can exchange them for His peace.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

At the end of the day, all most of us want to know is that everything is going to be alright. We can face life\u2019s troubles and go head to head with our fears, as long as we know they are not forever. The verses above are a testament to a God who loves us enough to assure us that one day every tear will be wiped from our eyes, and that, until then, no heart is too heavy for him to heal.<\/p>\n
