But as Father Jonathan Morris explains in part three of his video series on the cardinal virtues, the word actually refers to self-control and moderation.<\/p>\n

Specifically, practicing temperance reminds us that we can be so focused on \u201cgetting\u201d that we lose the ability to appreciate what we have \u2013 and we neglect the good that we can do for others. Here are Father Jonathan\u2019s insights on practicing temperance in your life.<\/p>\n
