Swamp’s Omnibus Bill Sends Signal to Americans: It’s Time to Call a Convention of States March 29, 2018

Convention of States encourages Americans frustrated with the outrageous $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill to sign up and sign the petition at www.conventionofstates.com.

We call upon the states to immediately prioritize and pass the COS resolution to send a clear message to Washington: We the People and the states reject the out-of-control spending, fiscal insanity, and unbridled corruption.

Today you can send a clear message to D.C.: We the People are empowered to put the brakes on Washington.

More than 3.2 million grassroots activists are working now in every state house district in America to permanently “Drain the Swamp” by calling an Article V amendments convention of states to call for fiscal restraint, limiting the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and put term limits on Congress and the judiciary.

“Washington will never get its fiscal house in order,” said Senator Tom Coburn, Senior Advisor to Convention of States. “Those on Capitol Hill love the power, prestige, and corruption that keep them swimming in the swamp. There is only one recourse, and that is calling a Convention of States to put limits on the federal government once and for all.”

“The only way to keep our country from bankruptcy and rein back federal power is by calling a Convention of States,” explained Senator Jim DeMint, Senior Advisor to Convention of States. “America’s Founders gave We the People a constitutional tool for such a time as this to rein in our out-of-control federal government and save our country.”

“It is impossible to adequately express my utter disdain for what the Republicans and Democrats have done to the American people by shoving down our throats an omnibus spending bill that no one has read,” said Mark Meckler, President of Citizens for Self-Governance.

“It is now time for We the People to take away the power from the federal government. The solution to the problem is obvious and the only way to drain the swamp is using the Article V option of the U. S. Constitution.”

The Convention of States is not a Republican or a Democratic issue—it is an American issue. It is a movement for liberty against the current tyranny of the Washington elite and bureaucratic swamp.

Corruption at the highest levels of government—in federal law enforcement agencies, regulatory organizations, the Internal Revenue Service, and Congress—can be stopped permanently by the Convention of States resolution, currently passed in 12 states and in process in 23 others.
