And it\u2019s the reason some in the GOP are actually defending him<\/a>.\u00a0Yes, he went to meet with a citizen of a foreign country in order to dig up dirt on Hillary Clinton, but there wasn\u2019t anything there. \u00a0No blood, no foul.<\/p>\nI\u2019m no legal expert. \u00a0I don\u2019t know the law. \u00a0I\u2019m guessing there still isn\u2019t proof of wrong doing on a legal scale. \u00a0If there was, we\u2019d be moving seriously toward impeachment even as I type.<\/p>\n
But as we\u2019ve heard for decades, just because something is legal (say, abortion) doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s right. \u00a0If we didn\u2019t distinguish between the legal and right, the Patriots would be more popular than they are. \u00a0Deep down, we know there is more than just \u2018beating the rap\u2019 that defines right and wrong.<\/p>\n
Consider this. \u00a0If someone working with Hillary \u2013 let\u2019s say Bill Clinton \u2013 was found to have gone to a meeting with someone from Russia (or, if you prefer, Iran or China) for the sole purpose of digging up dirt on Trump, or Bush, or Romney or anyone else, do you think Conservatives would be invoking \u2018no harm done\u2019 as an excuse to move on? \u00a0I can\u2019t believe that. \u00a0And if it happened that way, they would be right to demand accountability.<\/p>\n
