Is that what he says can be interpreted a hundred different ways.\u00a0 So this article, over at Life Site<\/a>, see a warning shot from Pope Francis in his statement about not being willing to change.\u00a0 The problem is, change what?\u00a0 I don\u2019t want to change the doctrine of the Holy Trinity. Is that what he means?\u00a0 No doubt it isn\u2019t what he means.\u00a0 But what about homosexuality?\u00a0 Change that?\u00a0 How?\u00a0 Say it\u2019s OK?\u00a0 Say it\u2019s not OK but no big deal?\u00a0 Say it isn\u2019t a mortal sin anymore?\u00a0 <\/p>\n

I find much of what Pope Francis says is unmistakably vague.\u00a0 It leaves endless room for debate.\u00a0 And in the end, that\u2019s not good.\u00a0 I got that Jesus spoke in parables.\u00a0 And perhaps that is what Pope Francis is doing: being purposely evasive.\u00a0 And there are many fans of Pope Francis who says that is what he is doing.<\/p>\n

But if so, then the confusion is well earned, and not the fault of the media twisting things or people just being dumb.\u00a0After all, if he is doing it to sow confusion, then what can we say about those who are confused?\u00a0 <\/p>\n

For my part, Jesus gets to talk in parables and choose who hears plainly and who doesn\u2019t.\u00a0 It\u2019s worth noting that at times Jesus ultimately explains the parables.\u00a0 I\u2019m not sure a mere mortal has the authority to deliberately shut out, by way of confusion, those he has deemed unworthy of the message.\u00a0 If, in fact, that is the Pope\u2019s intention.<\/p>\n

If it isn\u2019t, then I don\u2019t know what to say.\u00a0 If you are going to drop bombs, like saying people unwilling to embrace chance are idolaters, then you had best spell out exactly what you mean, since I\u2019m sure even Pope Francis is unwilling to change on some things.\u00a0 Exactly where it all goes remains to be seen.\u00a0 But some clarity after the last years of vague and open ended statements would be nice.\u00a0 Or perhaps not, depending on what the vagueness is ultimately concealing. <\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
