That is the question. \u00a0Here is a decidedly conservative take on the modern issue of colleges<\/a>. \u00a0Not that being left leaning is itself a problem. \u00a0When I went to college in the 80s, our university was already well to the left of center. \u00a0And look how well I turned out!<\/p>\n

But there are problems, such as walking back the holiness of open discourse (a biggie in my college days). Or the whole \u2018safety zones meant to affirm my infallible opinions.\u2019 \u00a0These are not conducive to learning. \u00a0Quite the opposite. \u00a0The idea that my opinions are nothing less than God-truth, and therefore must not be questioned? \u00a0Where did that come from? \u00a0If I wanted that for my boys I\u2019d send them to a cultist\u00a0commune for free.<\/p>\n

So, as I take a\u00a0few days off in order to celebrate my youngest\u2019s birthday, and as I will soon have three boys in one level of college or another, the question \u2013 is it worth it? \u00a0Are there better options? \u00a0And is it just me, or with all due respect to Charlie Daniels, didn\u2019t the Devil sound better than Johnny?
