In this RawStory headline<\/a>, you can almost feel the gloating.\u00a0 Mark Shea also ran with it<\/a> on his Facebook page, using it to take swipes at that ever vaguely defined group called The Gun Cult.\u00a0 What strikes me is the difference in tone that exists between the Oregon protesters and their supporters, verses the tone used when Muslims kill in the name of Islam, or blacks riot and kill and destroy property.\u00a0 I mean, what is the difference? My boys noticed it without me needing to tell them.\u00a0 All I can say is that the speed with which the Oregon protesters \u2013 who may be guilty and in no way worthy of respect I\u2019ll concede \u2013 were labeled terrorist, and have been mocked, derided, laughed at, and when killed, even spat upon and dragged through the verbal mud, has to do with one of three things: their politics, their religion, or their skin color.\u00a0 And the thought that they are so hated because of one of those things doesn\u2019t bring much comfort, even if I disagree with their tactics.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

BTW, bonus note.\u00a0 In the article, notice that the editors leave the poorly handwritten note notifying others of Mr. Carter\u2019s death.\u00a0 Notice the [sic]s.\u00a0 A professor once said that sic<\/em> should seldom appear in writings.\u00a0 If you are reprinting an important document, say for historical record, and there is something like an error that might be questionable or confusing, it is appropriate.\u00a0 But if something that is not necessary is reproduced, and there are multiple errors that sic<\/em> is applied to, then it almost always means the quote is part of a hit piece.\u00a0 That was in 1998 he said that, BTW.\u00a0 And it appears to be true.\u00a0 The note wasn\u2019t needed.\u00a0 It could have been referenced or paraphrased.\u00a0 It was there in all its sic<\/em>-laden glory\u00a0to drive home the point that these racist gun toting terrorists are, like most non-liberals, a bunch of hayseed dolts as well.\u00a0 Never mind that he might have been upset.\u00a0 That is irrelevant.\u00a0 The story is to propagandize, counting on people like Mark Shea to spread the fire.\u00a0 It is not to inform.\u00a0 It certainly isn\u2019t to sympathize with a human being\u2019s death.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Update Note<\/strong>: In going back and looking at Mark\u2019s Facebook page, he seems to put a heavy emphasis on quoting RawStory, which is a hard left of left partisan hit publication.\u00a0 It is almost beyond MSNBC in its appraisal of anything even close to right of extreme left.\u00a0 So once again, we have conservative Mark Shea taking as Gospel truth anything a hard left radical publication says about non-liberal non-conformists.\u00a0And he seems to do so multiple times a day.\u00a0 Go figure.\u00a0 I guess conservative just doesn\u2019t mean what it used to mean.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
