This was the Lynn principle. \u00a0Years ago, Barry Lynn made it clear that it was fine for religious leaders to attempt to mandate congress follow a particular course regarding gay marriage. \u00a0That\u2019s because they weren\u2019t promoting a point of view, or even a religious view. \u00a0They were promoting Truth. Likewise, religious beliefs that include discrimination and hatred have no business being part of our public discourse. <\/p>\n

So whenever those who associated with more progressive sensitivities say things like \u2018we just want to punish bigotry or hate\u2019<\/a>, I begin to itch. \u00a0The same thing happened to my boys before we pulled them into homeschool. \u00a0That was not the reason, but it was icing on the cake for our decision. \u00a0Armed with an LGBT club and weeks of rainbow posters, the school called together a special assembly to tackle bullying. \u00a0But the main focus was on leaving LGBT students alone. \u00a0 Nothing clear and definite was said. \u00a0No actual threats. \u00a0Just threats of punishing any student who intimidated or bullied others, especially over the issues of LGBT. <\/p>\n

But my boys, and many others, heard the underlying message quite clear: if you criticize or in any way speak against non-heterosexual normality, you will be presumed guilty where you stand.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
