Today is a fading day<\/a>. \u00a0A day that was forever to live in infamy. \u00a0But with each passing year, as is the case with all things, the memories fade. \u00a0Even as early as my high school days, the memories were fading. \u00a0Though our youth might still be stirred into a certain ferver if the moment was right. \u00a0In one of my high school classes, our teacher showed the movie Tora! Tora! Tora!<\/a><\/i> \u00a0 Now, most of the kids were less than enthused through most of it, but once the attack begins, they became mesmerized. \u00a0At one point, when one of the American gun crews shoots down a Japanese plane, the class actually cheered! \u00a0Wow. \u00a0It seems like so long ago. \u00a0So long ago from the day my third boy came home from his elementary American History class and asked, as only a child can, if \u201cAmerica was ever a good country?\u2019. \u00a0<\/div>\n

Still, I\u2019d like to think, though all civilizations must fail, ours won\u2019t on our watch, and it won\u2019t be our immediate posterity who must pay the terrible price of our folly and arrogance. \u00a0And likewise, that those who died to keep us free didn\u2019t die in vain. \u00a0<\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
